About Dermal Filler

The Dermal filler, we use is Restylane a gold-standard FDA-approved product. “Fillers,” as they are commonly known are an injectable form of Hyaluronic Acid used to add volume, smooth lines, and wrinkles, and rejuvenate the appearance of the skin. They are commonly used in Aesthetic procedures to address signs of ageing, enhance facial contours, and improve overall facial appearance.

The expertise in Dermal fillers centres around the injection technique, a factor influencing the result. While the importance of using high-quality materials is clear in injectable procedures, the value of employing an optimal injection technique is often overlooked. Such an innovative method in the field of injectables is the “Fern Pattern Technique.”

In 2005, Dr Tom van Eijk pioneered the “Fern Pattern” injection technique, offering a method to fortify the skin without creating an unnatural, inflated appearance. This technique not only requires less filler (resulting in a more cost-effective treatment) but also yields longer-lasting results for the client. The key lies in precisely injecting the Restylane (Dermal Filler) in a specific pattern resembling a fern leaf into the appropriate skin layer, resulting in a noticeable skin-tightening effect.

This groundbreaking technique has been documented in a scientific article published in the esteemed “Journal of Drugs in Dermatology,” marking an international breakthrough.

Sabine has participated in Dr Tom van Eijk’s masterclass, further enhancing her skills in this advanced technique.

After Treatment, the cells undergo increased collagen production and over subsequent months the initially established firmness created by the Fern Pattern Technique is replaced by skin enriched with collagen. This results in a long-lasting correction, especially with regular and repetitive treatments.

To optimise the skin-stimulating properties of Restylane a treatment plan with treatments every 2-3 months is recommended to gradually achieve a natural look. Once the desired outcome is attained, a touch-up every 12 to 18 months is usually sufficient.
